Welcome!

You are invited to join an educational co-operative designed especially for people using K12 curriculum in the Pittsburgh and North Hills area. We began in 2004. Anyone using K12 curriculum through any school or individual plan is encouraged to join us.

Our primary goal:

  1. Bullet    To progress through the K12 curriculum in a group environment

  2. Bullet    To share the teaching load

  3. Bullet    To provide a place for adults and kids to regularly connect
                with other K12 families

  4. Bullet    To provide a chance for group activities we can't do at home

STAR Co-op Features


  1. Bullet    K12 Curriculum Classes: ART, SCIENCE, MUSIC, LITERATURE, LANGUAGE ARTS.

  2. Bullet    Interactive Electives: Cooking, arts and crafts, debate club, newspaper, flag football and other PE activities.

  3. Bullet    Special Events: Spelling bee, talent show, science bowl, project gallery and more.

  4. Bullet    Preschool Classes for siblings are available as well (spaces are limited.)

  5. Bullet    Yahoo group to keep in touch between sessions.


We usually meet the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month (Sept-May).

Application Information

We accept applications throughout the year. Both students and adults must register.
